Tour Description
From June to September each year, the annual Humpback Whale migration occurs along the coast of Queensland. The warm tropical waters of the Northern Australian cost are the perfect location for giving birth, and we often see mothers travelling with their newborn calves. As the whales journey some 16,000 kilometres each year as they travel from the Antarctic, they create an amazing spectacle, with their acrobatic breaches and tail slaps.
With pick up from one of our pick-up points, we take you to the ferry departure point to meet your cruise across to Moreton Island. You will have access to Tangalooma Island Resort for the day, where you will be able to spend some free time before you join your 3-hour Whale Watching Cruise at around midday. Your cruise includes a light lunch served on board, along with a complimentary whale watching photo (digital copy).
After your whale watching, spend a little more time at the resort, where you have access to the resort facilities including the swimming pools. During your day, visit the Marine Education centre to see the 'Discover the World of Dolphins' presentation, or enjoy one of the many island activities on offer. Up to 40 island activities are free, and others, including watersports, can be undertaken for an additional charge.
At the conclusion of your time on the island, you'll rejoin your ferry back to the mainland, and transfer back to your drop-off point.
